Law firms are on the cusp of a technological transformation as they increasingly adopt cloud-based solutions to bolster productivity and client service. The results of the Briefing Frontiers 2025 research highlight a significant trend, as 64% of firms plan for all their core business systems to move to the cloud within the next two years. And 94% of leaders see an increased appetite for the firm to invest in business innovation. This shift underscores the growing importance of cloud technology in maintaining competitiveness in the legal sector.

By embracing the cloud, firms can enhance security, improve how their data sources are integrated, and deliver innovative functionality to enable more productive and effective legal services

When moving core business systems to the cloud, it is increasingly important for firms to have a data strategy guiding how to deliver value through connecting the data from those disparate systems.

To transition to cloud-based technology, firms must invest in the tools and services that align with their organisational priorities. Comprehensive training programmes are essential to equip staff with skills needed to use cloud tools effectively. Partnering with reputable providers that understand the legal industry’s unique needs can also enable growth while ensuring security and compliance requirements are met.
